Content Strategy
A Content Strategy is a comprehensive plan to strategically create, deliver, and manage your content in the most efficient and productive manner possible under the circumstances. Whether it’s Online Help, PDF guides, Training modules, Knowledge Base articles, Marketing content, all of the above, or any combination therein, a robust Content Strategy engages team members across multiple departments in an organization. These can include Support, Training, Marketing, Documentation and more. Anyone who will contribute to, use, create, or maintain your content is a stakeholder and we'll start by defining the roles, responsibilities, and dependencies of each stakeholder and every bit of content we plan to manage.
To best assess your needs for the future versus the current state of your existing content processes, I’d begin with a thorough process analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps. It’s generally best to address high value, high priority areas first to gain as much value in as short a time as possible. From there, we set goals and expectations for steady, incremental, modular progress. As always, a plan for continuous process improvement is included.
